Sommar i hagen

Det er sommar, og staudene veks som gale. 

It's summer, and the perennials are growing like crazy. 

Framfor huset er det mindre sol, men lunt. Eg flytta staudene som stod i bedet oppe frå før, ned framfor huset. Dei ser ut til å trivst!

In front of the house there's less sunlight, but it's more sheltered. I moved the perennials from the bed at the top of the garden, down in front of the house. They seem to thrive!

I bedet øvst i hagen har eg planta nye stauder, og lete nokre gamle stå. Alle urtene er daude. Det er valmuene og. Men dei som klarte seg gjennom vinteren likar seg godt!

In the bed at the top of the garden, I've planted new perennials, and kept some old ones. All the herbs are dead. The poppies seem dead too. Those who made it through winter are thriving, though.

Mosesildre 'saxifraga hypnoides' spreier
seg i hjørnet, slik eg hadde håpa på.

Akeleie 'Aquilegia vulgaris' står litt for
tett inntil stormarikåpa, som har blitt
dobbelt så stor sida i fjor.

Fra bakerst: mosesildre, stormarikåpe som
skjuler peoner, løytnantshjerte, hosta,
akeleie, allium, stormarikåpe.

Eg flytta ein klatrerose opp til det øvste bedet. Rosa lever så vidt. Klematisen veks heldigvis godt. 

I moved one of the climbing roses to the top of the garden. It's barely alive. The Clematis is growing, luckily.

I det opphøgde bedet er det berre alpeklematisen som har klart seg. Nokre andre skugeplantar har eg flytta til ein meir skuggefull plass. Dei har klart seg såvidt. 

In the raised bed, only the Alpina made it through winter. Some shadow plants barely made it, but I moved them to a shadier place.

 

Alpeklematisen er min store trøyst.
Han veks om berre det, og blømer nydeleg.
The Alpina clematis is my comfort,
it's growing largely and blooming beautifully.

Vi har planat to epletre, sidan kirsebærtreet vart fjerna. Dei blømer, og eg håpar vi får eple til hausten. 

We've planted two apple trees, after the cherry tree was cut down. They're blooming, and hopefully we'll have some apples in time. 

Epleblomene startar som nydeleg rosa
knoppar, og ender som sarte kvite blomer.
The apple blossom starts as beautiful pink
bulbs, and end as delicate white flowers.
